Bindi Sheth learnt photography from architect-photographer Dinesh Mehta and worked on a series of portraits of artists for a joint exhibition and held her first solo exhibition of photographs at Art Heritage, New Delhi. She had a joint show of her photographs on Ahmedabad, at Alliance Francaise d’Ahmedabad, followed by Transportraits at Jagori. She also participated on theme of RECOVERY for PIX a Photographic Quarterly, Delhi.
Bindi Sheth has received many awards for photography, from Shramik Vikas Sansathan, Vadodara, Ahmedabad Municipal Co-operation, Navdeep Pratisthan and Alliance Francaise of Delhi. Her photographs were published in English newspapers and magazines. She is interested in cities, fashion, physiotherapy centres and the aged. For the last three years, Bindi Sheth had worked closely with author Esther David on photo-documentation of the Bene Israel Jewish community of Ahmedabad, capturing the various nuances of how this mini-microscopic Jewish community preserves its cultural identity in a vast multi-dimensional country like India.
