On February 2nd, 2013, Pondy ART opened its first exhibition in Pondicherry, India. And we have kept right on getting art out there through photography ever since!
In our second year we hosted 3 solo shows, 2 group shows and the photography festival, Pondy Photo 2014. We showcased the work of 53 photographers from around the world in our ongoing effort to build awareness of the issues challenging India today!
We take this moment to thank the professional photographers and supporting partners who helped us make this happen and to the public for their presence and support along the way.
So what is going to happen this year? Well….
Pondy ART is proud to announce that this initiative has now been recognised by Arthink, an initiative of the South Asian network of Goethe Institutes – the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, and The British Council – the United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, in cooperation with Khoj International Artists’ Association with the selection of Pondy ART founder, Kasha Vande as an ATSA Fellow 2015-2016. As a Fellow, Kasha will receive intensive training in art program management which can only lead to more fantastic exhibitions and cultural events in the future of this initiative. It is a great honour for this organisation to have one of the Pondy ART team selected to participate in the Fellowship program and we look forward to learning a great deal!
And just to show, that even though it is our birthday – it doesn’t mean we are slowing down we also announce the opening of
HERITAGE OF THE FAMILY
