Caesars’ Horseshoe Lake Charles Opens for Visitors

The leading casino-entertainment company, Caesars Entertainment, celebrated the opening of its new venue, Horseshoe Lake Charles.

Horseshoe Lake Charles Is Now Open for Visitors

The opening ceremony of Horseshoe Lake Charles located in southwest Louisiana wrapped up on Monday, December 12. The date matched the initially announced opening date from Caesars Entertainment. Besides a spectacular party, the ceremony offered beautiful fireworks. The grand opening also offered live music entertainment, bets and more fun activities.

The new venue uses the location formerly used by Caesars Entertainment’s Isle of Capri Lake Charles. Unfortunately, due to the devastating impact of Hurricane Laura, the Isle of Capri was damaged back in 2020. Then, for more than two years, the property was closed, impacted by the pandemic as well.

Now, the new Caesars’ new Horseshoe Lake Charles is open for visitors and it offers plenty of amenities for its guests. The completely renovated 60,000 square-foot property has new hotel rooms, unique dining outlets and offers plenty of entertainment. Visitors of the venue who favor gambling will undoubtedly like the location’s slot machines and table games. Horseshoe Lake Charles offers nearly 1,000 slot machines but there’s also an official WSOP Poker room. Bettors that visit the new venue can also experience the all-new Caesars Sportsbook.

On the other hand, there are more than 250 hotel rooms with unique designs and plenty of beverage and food outlets. The location also anticipates the introduction of the famous multi-Michelin-starred Gordon Ramsay Steak outlet at some point next year. What’s more, Horseshoe Lake Charles is expected to open a new pool area as well.

After Two Years, the Venue Is Finally Open

Back in October, Caesars announced the planned date for the opening of Horseshoe Lake Charles. At the time of the announcement, the company’s president and COO, Anthony Carano, acknowledged that upon closing the Isle of Capri back in 2020, the company did not expect to have the location shut for such a long time.

When we closed the Isle of Capri in 2020, we were not expecting the property to be shut down for this length of time.

Still, he pointed out that the company is delighted to see the hard work put into this property and the convenience it will deliver for its guests. “We look forward to welcoming our partners and the community to celebrate with us as we commemorate this milestone and introduce them to Horseshoe Lake Charles,” Carano added.

Buzz Bingo and Stroke Association Help Survivors with Second Chance at Life

The Stroke Association in the UK, an organization that provides support, conducts research and organizes campaigns to help people affected by stroke, announced a new partnership with one the most popular UK bingo operators, Buzz Bingo.

The Stroke Association Teams up with Buzz Bingo

Details of the new collaboration emerged Wednesday and see the duo join forces for a three-year partnership. Joining forces, the Stroke Association and Buzz Bingo will seek to help stroke survivors fight against loneliness and isolation.

Celebrating the start of the new collaboration, the duo organized an event that took place on Tuesday this week at Buzz Bingo, Stratford, London. The event gathered members of the public and welcomed stroke survivors to enjoy an evening with bingo games, music and prizes.

The Collaboration Will Bring Support to Stroke Survivors

Coinciding with the announcement of the new partnership, the duo released details regarding a new joint survey. The white paper revealed that there are currently 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK and every year, there are approximately 100,000 strokes.

The study recorded the responses of 381 stroke survivors and found that over a third of them or 40%, would like to socialize more since their stroke. However, the survey uncovered that more than half or 52% of the survivors have lost confidence due to their stroke, while 32% admitted to experiencing personality changes. Of the stroke survivors, 23% admitted to feeling lonely or isolated, while one in four, or 26% admitted to struggling with their mental health. On the other hand, losing their hobby or spending less time on hobbies left 29% of stroke survivors feeling a loss of confidence.

Without any doubt, Buzz Bingo’s collaboration with the Stroke Association will help many stroke survivors. Ultimately, the goal of the new collaboration is to help those survivors socialize more. This will be achieved via fundraising initiatives which will bring invaluable support to stroke survivors.

Buzz Bingo Is Delighted to Support the Stroke Association

Mark Fletcher, Buzz Bingo’s head of brand communications, said that the company is excited to join forces and support the Stroke Association to help tackle loneliness and isolation for stroke survivors. He acknowledged that the socialization after a stroke can be challenging but reassured that Buzz Bingo clubs can “offer a welcoming, friendly and accessible environment for stroke survivors to take that first step to feeling part of a community, regaining confidence and helping rebuild their lives.”

We are delighted to be partnering with the Stroke Association and to help raise awareness of the isolation and loneliness many stroke survivors experience.

He revealed that the collaboration is expected to deliver volunteering opportunities that will help train Buzz Bingo’s employees to better understand the impacts of stroke.

Do the Dutch Have an Antidote to Messi?

Without Messi, Argentina would stand no chance against the Netherlands. Their defense just isn’t good to stop the Netherlands’ attackers, not to mention that all of Argentina’s defenders are shorter than Cody Gakpo. Speaking of the 23-year-old PSV star, he’s been sensational since coming to Qatar, scoring three goals already, one of which he scored by heading the ball inside the net.

Apart from Gakpo, Argentina players also need to fear the Dutch midfield. Barca’s Frenkie de Jong has been great so far, while his colleagues from Atalanta, Marten de Roon and Teun Koopmeiners, seem capable of helping the Netherlands establish dominance on the pitch on Friday.

Then, there’s Netherlands’ defense, which will be in the spotlight in the quarterfinal game. Right-back Denzel Dumfries is coming off an MVP-level performance in the round of 16, which saw the Inter player score one goal against the USMNT, while also making two assists. He did great offensively in that game, but against Argentina, he will have to do great defensively as well.

The same goes for Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, Manchester City’s Nathan Ake, and two Ajax’s players, Jurrien Timber and Daley Blind. They all will have to work very hard to help out their goalkeeper.

Andries Noppert is the man between the sticks, who seems like the weakest link in the Netherlands’ squad. As a reminder, the 6’8 Heerenveen goalie has made his international debut in the first round of the 2022 World Cup. So far, he’s been great, but we wonder if he can do great against Messi.

It’s All About Lionel Messi

Argentina got themselves into the quarterfinal after finishing first in Group C and beating Australia 2-1 in the round of 16. In the group stage, we saw them win two games (2-0 win over Mexico and 2-0 against Poland) and lose one (2-1 to Saudi Arabia).

In total, they’ve scored seven goals since coming to Qatar, and Lionel Messi was directly involved in four of those. He also created numerous chances for his teammates, but they failed to turn many of them into goals. This goes especially for Lautaro Martinez, an Inter striker who was supposed to be the one in charge of scoring.

A few other Argentina players have been the opposite of impressive in this tournament, including their goalie and their defensive line. They haven’t been too horrible, but on the other hand, they haven’t yet played against a team that’s as good in the offense as the Netherlands.

Netherlands vs Argentina Prediction

If the Dutch find the key to taming arguably the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, they’re going to advance to the next stage. So, can they keep the Argentine Messiah at bay? We think they can. Not only do they have one of the best defensive lines in the world, but they also have a fantastic coach.

The Netherlands national soccer team is led by 71-year-old Louis van Gaal who surely has some aces up his sleeve.
